The reality of violence in modern day health care is not addressed effectively in traditional physical management training programs. Staffing shortages and facility limitations create long waits and staff isolation with hostile people, with little or no chance for backup if a violent episode occurs. Staff members can be too intimidated to act or may react inappropriately and possibly injure patients, creating liability for themselves and the facility.
Safe-reflexes™ teaches professionals how to protect themselves from attacks without suffering or inflicting injuries. Reflexes are reprogrammed to instinctively react without creating civil or criminal liability. The training covers therapeutic physical management techniques and verbal de-escalation skills that comply with federal regulations. Participants gain a sense of professionalism and an understanding of the risk and liability involved in physical altercations.
